Just a couple of days ago, I inserted the above video card into a G4 533 Mhz system.
I'm pleased to report everything runs fine so far. At the moment, I'm connecting it to a 15" CRT via an Apple DVI-VGA dongle.

Decided to post in this section as it seemed a little empty. Also, maybe there may be like-minded people who wants to decide to get such a card. It is great enough to support Core Image and affordable enough to warrant spending such a budget to extend the life of one's aging machine.

Detail Specs (fr ATIccelerator II)
Processor - 365 MHz
Memory - 295 Mhz
AGP 4x
Radeon 9600 Pro (aka ATY, RV350 as seen in ASP)

hey cheerful
why should not it worked?? did I miss something?
Apple has been shipping PMG5 with the Radeon 9600 I think, now I do not remember if it was the Pro version or not.

the modified Radeon 9600 Pro was pulled off OWC after a few months. apparently there were a good no. of users who used the card in their G4s experienced some problems. hence, i'm keeping my fingers crossed that i don't run into such issues.

Neither do i know if those G5s came with the Pro version. However, i managed to compare the profiles of the card via ASP, both shared the same "ATY,RV350". i think it is safe to assume both are the same card.

if i recall correctly, OWC did mention that they pulled the cards off PMG5 and modified it to work with the G4s.

"These cards only work in a G5 computer. *This card does not support the new G5 Dual Core machines."
