LaCie and Seagate have announced that the purchase of LaCie had been finalized.
LaCie now is a subsidiary of Seagate, which a priori should maintain a relative independence brand. Of course there is every chance that only Seagate drives are now found in boxes LaCie, but it's a detail.

Note that LaCie announced concurrently that most of its range was now compatible with USB 3.0 which has become since the arrival of the new Apple laptops an obligation to tempt the Mac Users.
