A small and largely unknown company called Potter Voice Technologies filed suit against all the smartphone manufacturers including Apple and Google as they would infringe on patent number 5,729,659 regarding voice command of electronic devices using normal spoken language
The company demands that all the manufacturers pay some royalties to be allowed to use that patent. The situation is becoming rather urgent for Potter Voice. As the patent application was filed in 1995, the company won't be able to collect royalties after 2015.
