In June Intel announced its Ultrabook program aiming at promoting ultra portables directly inspired by the MacBook Air. The proposed model was one of its clones, the ASUS UX21, has at least in the form being given, the specifications certainly very close to those of next MacBook Air

According to Digitimes, Intel has pressurized their closest partners computer manufacturers to launch out in this market and wants that 40% of the portables are with this format by the end 2012. The company would go as far as financially helping those who hesitate to jump into this dubious market. Intel not only wants to sell the maximum of these products that are equipped with their chips but also to begin to compete with the tablets,  a market where the company did not manage yet to fight with the ARM chips.
