i saw this forum, then i wonder if i can change it really?
also i have an imac intel core duo, is their also somehow that i can upgrade the chip

I don't think that it is possible to upgrade a PPC-based machine to an Intel one...
It is not the same architecture.

Putting a Core2Duo on a CoreDuo or CoreSolo should be possible though.
