If you were wondering what will be the name of the future version of Mac OS X, you might be surprise by the potential future changes. One of our sources told us that Apple might be deciding about a totally new branding for its OS, similarly to what has been done with the iPhone. They are currently thinking of using iOS as the default naming/branding of Apple OS. We would then have iOS desktop, iOS server and iOS mobile. The final decision is not taken yet, however, the proposal seems to be well supported by the high management, it would give a better exposure and unity to Apple OS platforms while making communication easier.

Not strange, considering there are probably so much more iOS users than Mac users, that one would need to use a factor, not a percentage. Good thing, that iOS finally has a name. Bad thing that it would become the name for everything.

I hope that this is a bad joke.
iOS instead of Mac OS ? What next ? Kill the word "Mac" entirely ? Then the next computers will be named iPro, iMini, ii (for the iMac) ? Why not kill the whole computer product line-up ? People (or only the iToys fanboys) say: "The iPad is so powerful and wonderful". Maybe the next iPad version simply sports a HDMI connector and the user plugs in monitor, mouse and keyboard and then the loyal Mac user don't need a computer anymore... What an iToys nightmare... iOS ? Why does Steve hate "Mac" ? Neglecting the Mac computers is entirely sufficient in my opinion, but Apple really should stop demonstrating, that only the excrescent iToys (iPod, iPad, iPhone) are important. -------------------- This post has been edited by Mac: Jun 26 2010, 12:43 PM |
