I came across a weird situation and since Apple support didn't really have an answer I would at least like to know if people are out there who experienced the same problems.

I tried to install 10.5.7 on a brand new MacBook Pro 13" on a 256 GB Super Talent SSD which I bought seperately. It won't install. The installation process freezes at different stages every time I try. Swapping the SSD with a hard drive does the trick but I want my SSD. Oddly enough the installation works fine when I put my SDD into an external case and install while the SSD is outside of the MacBook Pro. For the most part the MacBook Pro & SSD combination works fine after the SSD is placed into the laptop again. But the whole system freezes from time to time.

Could this have something to do with the speed limitation of the SATA bus? I don't really think so but Apple support has no clue.

Anyone with the same problem?

Cheers

Heiko

Hello
Sorry for late answer.
Did you try formating the SSD in an external enclosure with the GUID volume partition before installing OA X 10.5.7 on it?
