not sure about freewares. but you may want to give filemaker or bento a go. i'm not sure if it suits your needs.
alternatively, if you use an intel mac, u may choose to boot into bootcamp or use virtualization solutions (i.e. VMware Fusion or //), boot into Windows OS and use your usual MS Access in the windows environment. |

I have been using extensively FileMaker, so I can only recommend it, however it depends your need, if you just a simple database format, or having a software able to make use of database. |
