Hi,
I did the airport upgrade to my macbook to see if I could get some good transfer rates. Install went great. Airport card running and successfully shows a 270Mbit connection according to the airport base station. I am using a 802.11n only network. For some reason my transfer rates are 1.4MB/s. No where near the 8.9MB/s the tutorial claimed they were getting after install. Could someone please help me with this ? Thanks, slevytam |

Allow me to point you to these few post, I believe they will be of some assistance:
Link 1 "It remains still unclear if this update fixes the Airport issue with MacBook when running on battery, or instability issue of wireless networking with iMac based on Atheros wireless chipset." Link 2 "The first TechNote provides information concerning the Airport problem affecting the MBP Santa Rosa (but also other Mac Intel). When used on battery, the wireless connection drops and one can even experience kernel panic." Link 3 "When asking among the team about problem with wireless connection, it immediately became clear that there is an issue with Airport and the last version of OS X 10.4.10." ... ... (do read on for more) |
