It has been at least one month that tumors have been spreading about a potential partnership between Sony and Panasonic for developing/producing next generation OLED panels. IT now, seems that both companies should announce the birth of a joint-venture this week. This entity would be dedicated to OLED panel R&D and both companies expect to be able to produce such panels in 2015.
As a reminder, LG and Samsung have already launched the production of their first OLED TV set (55", premium price tag), but tis is rather a marketing strategy to be the first on the market, as they do not intend to release many new models in the coming months. By linathael, original by Lionel |
