A new rumor indicates that Tim Cook met Executives from Valve in Washington. If no further information is available, this is already enough to fuel all type of speculations. Of course, we can only be please to finally see Apple getting closer with major player in the game business, expecting that it will benefit to Mac OS users, and not only iOS users.
Some are speculating that Apple might be part of the future Steam Box, the game console that Valve would like to launch in the near future. We would be surprised that Apple, known for acting and playing alone, would team up on such project with a partner. It is more likely that the meeting was an opportunity to optimize synergies between both companies, to allow the App Store, the Mac App Store and the Game Center to complement each other. If we would speculate a bit, we would say that Apple and Valve have been talking on making the Steam shop and the Game Center compatible to offer iOS and Mac OS X users access to a huge community of online gamers. We should hear more in a near future, as Valve is probably going to unveil more details. By linathael, original by Lionel |
