Last week, we were reporting about the future of DDR4, especially from the RAM manufacturer point of view, aiming to have adoption as yearly as 2013.
![]() Well, they will have to wait for 2014. Indeed, while the the forthcoming Ivy-Bridge CPU and controllers are working with DDR3, we already know that the future generation from Intel will not support DDR4. So, Intel will not bring DDR4 compatible CPU and chipsets before 2014. So, it is likely that the DDR4 will only become the default RAM module in our computers in 2014-2015, depending on the hardware models and segments. By linathael, original by Lionel |
