The 1 and only Fireport appears to be dead. After some checking/testing, I am certain that the data-line seems to be dead. HDDs can powerup but doesn't mount. Ext CDRW doesn't powerup anymore. iPod able to charge but not able to be detected by the powerbook.

Current fix is to use my pcmcia firewire card (Fire2Go); a pretty darn old card. haha.

p.s. I know most of you will tell me, "get a new mac notebook". just indulge me please, teach me to fix if possible smile.gif btw, Hardware Test reports all hardware fine. AppleJack reports fine as well.

tia!

might simply be that there is not enough power anymore delivered by the FireWire;
is this problem seen identically whe nthe PB is on battery and powered directly from AC?

definitely not that case. the powerbook's on AC.
previously, even w/o AC i am able to use the iSight, also, i managed to bus-powered up 3 firelite HDs even on battery! (i surprised myself too)
