We start receiving information about Haswell, the platform to arrive in 2013 and to replace the forthcoming Ivy-Bridge, which should be available in the coming weeks. The chipset associated to Haswell is known today as "Lynx Point" and would manage 6x USB 3.0 and up to 6x SATA III lines (vs. 4 and 2 for the Ivy-Bridge).
This chipset, unlike the CPU, will be based on PCI-Express 2.0 probably to feed Thunderbolt. By linathael, original by Lionel |
