NVidia continues on its way intended to make its graphics cards very powerful coprocessors and even in their eyes the future chief of the orchestra of the computer. After the Fermi and its many variations the company should release at the end the year a new architecture called Kepler that will be engraved in 28 nm. All seems to go for best and the first test chips were manufactured.
One is still unaware in detail of what they will be able to do but it is probable, not to say certain, that the company will benefit from this new intricacy of engraving to significantly increase the number of transistors of these cards and thus their raw power. Even though general public is the biggest user of computers, NVidia will continue to aim at the market of the supercomputers where their products are more and more used because they are more effective in certain fields (weather, simulations nuclear or seismic and more generally physics) than the traditional processors.
