According to Computerworld, Apple would be planning on putting an NFC chip in the next generations of iPads and iPhones, which would allow wireless payment on those devices. It would be surprising not to use the chip to this end since several companies have started making accessories that will allow the same thing on the current models.
We are sure that Apple will try to get a commission on the transactions going through iDevices, even though there is no chance that they will be able to get near they usual 30% commission... With such new function, Apple will have to act in a stronger way against jailbreaking as it would be impossible to let hackers have access to the code of a device that can be used as a payment terminal.
