So, what are the admins waiting for? They must add categories to this forum!
Personally I'm waiting for a "Developer" category smile.gif

We are busy working on the structure of the forum (we would like to have the correct structure at the first shot!).
This must be decided this week-end. Afterwards, the admins will do the thing wink.gif

For sure, this will be online next week. Not much longer to wait for smile.gif

As for changing the site layout, I think it is a good idea, even if it is done later, once the forums are cruising well enough…

And on the subject of hanging at both HM forums and MB ones, french-writing readers don't have to dual post especially : as soon as HM has its own community, it will provide with enough threads, flamewars and locked posts! ;-)

And there won't be the same threads on both boards, except for the News threads: so, I don't see how we would have to dual post. For now, it is just that the threads are about the news, hence the same subjects covered on MB boards.

Just a question to the HM team : can we expect to have different articles on MB and HM respective sites?
MB is sometimes very focused on France-centered subjects (ie FNAC & Darty retailers and their Apple corners etc.) and HM will surely attract a big english-speaking community, more interested in some US-only subjects. So, I think there should be a common ground of Apple-news coverage and ALSO specific subjects : software products like Intuit Quickbooks or Powerschool, US or Australian retailers events etc.

So this is my question : is there some HM-only news in the works?

We can publish some HM-only news, but in most cases, we try to give additional information, as you mention FNAC-related stories, when it might be interesting to illustrate relationship between Apple and its reseller networks, the news is published on Hardmac too.
When it does not bring any valuable information to our non-French readers, we simply do not publish it.
Some news might appear first on HM before to be translated into French on MB.
Some news are when it deals with the website itself, but as the MacBidouille team include all members, those taking care of MB and HM, it is only one big team smile.gif So when something is interesting it might appear on both sites.
For sure Hardmac forum will be independent of MacBidouille forum, but the spirit should be the same: be different and serve the community

I'm sad to see that HardMac is almost asleep. What a pity that "The Chain Word Game" was quite immediatly stopped. It would have been a way to draw on the site many macUsers. People need also dream and game. Hope this site takes off soon to meet new "HardMacers" from different countries!

Asleep? Are you joking?
We already have 240 members and around 1500 posts in a month and a half. Not too bad for a new forum!
And we have some regular members who are giving a lot of useful information (you know who you are wink.gif ) jap.gif

The Chain Word Game has been stopped because at this time (this was before the full forum has been started), over 50% of the posts were on this topic blink.gif

We are not against fun and links between members (not at all!!) but it is a Mac site over here and the content you find on the Core section is probably more interesting for Mac users than a game wink.gif

The work around the APX and the BootCamp/iMac 24" problem is for sure a must and solutions will be found, I don't have any doubt about it.

If you like to play games, there are probably plenty of other forums/websites to do it... Join them! wink.gif

I'll leave "The Chain Word Game" aside, Cri has commented on that already very aptly. smile.gif

My view on the sleep isssue:
Hardmac if I'm not mistaken is kinda mirror of the French site MacB., hence, it is natural that it isn't as amazing as the other forums you have seen; simply because most might (I'm speculating and assuming that most are heading to the original site).

Cri has also noted the impressive stats for the short time period.

Hardmac Team has been, shall I just say, HARD at work indeed. It isn't simple to manage this forum. Starting off at this pace is pretty good for them, don't give them too much work until they are ready, ok?

Let's just put in whatever support and encouragement we can provide to the wonderful team we have here to create a BIG Bang in time to come, shall we?

In short, it is good that you voice out your views (some other members may feel the same way but they don't have the time to bring it up), but at the same time, do provide the HardMac team/community as much support as you can, in sync with Hardmac Objective(s) --- Mac News first!

p.s. Bandwidth is expensive you know.

hello Zenon

it is up to members and visitors to contribute and build a forum and its topics
hardmac forum is not visible enough from the hardmac website, we are aware of it and trying to work out a solution quickly
but we have jsut started and we were not expecting a bigger/larger success, it akes time to build a good and relaibale forum. Quality is better and quantity is not it? wink.gif
give us time please, it took 3 to 4 years for Macbidouille to become a reference website and forum.
It took shorter time for hardmac as a website to be recognized and an english version of macbidouille and something different too.
so let meet next yeat, next time to look back at forum activities after 12 months.

OK, Linathael, I know you are right. I was just giving a feeling. In fact, I often visit HardMac, just before MB and, you know, most time I'm alone on the site. It's because of my interest I sent the post number 52. It was not at all agressive (I have a doubt about some answers).
"Quality is better and quantity" I agree with you. But I don't think it depends of the topic but of men
Long life for Hardmac

We just tried to explain why such a decision has been taken at a time...
