Pirates making use of Flashback did not really stop working on it. A new version has been released. It still makes use of the Java security hole fixed by Apple. So it can be installed on computer that did not install the security update, and is currently not detectable by tools released by Apple. Interestingly, this Trojan type of malware will not install on Mac running an antivirus or Little snitch.
So, if you have been applying the recent Mac OS X software update, you are fine, if not, you should better do it ASAP. By linathael, original by Lionel |
