While everyone is looking at the online music market and the music clouds and services such as iTunes Match, JVC announced the launch in Japan in the near future of CDs using a new technology called K2 HD. Even if the CD will still be burned in 16 bits and 44,1 KHz, the masters will be in 24 Bits 100 KHz.
We are not sure that there will be any audible difference on the finished products. Still, they will be manufactured using HQCD technology, which means that they will use a high quality subtract and will be more precise, which should make them last longer. Fortunately, the few CDs that will come out featuring that new norm will be of classical music, which was hopefully recorded in optimal conditions. By Machmeter, original by Lionel |

It is so good to know about new things coming from the wonderful JVC. I stay here wondering what will be the sound quality of the classic music played on those CDs! It is good to see a life renewal in that market, and still hope that that type of CDs don't come to the hands of the common people to record and make piracy, thus keeping quality accessible just through means that employ people and invest in technology improvement.
