Apple seems to be ready to renew its wireless product line, and in particular the Time Capsule. It would be hard and even impossible to do better on the network part as the current model os already reaching the limit of the 802.11n norm, but Apple wants to make them smarter.
The new models could be able to download the new updates of the devices that connect to it. That way, as soon as Apple would be releasing one, it would be automatically downloaded on the disk, which will makes thing very convenient since it will be rapidly transferred on the Mac. In addition, it will avoid the multiple download of the same update for several identical macs, which will help the Internet bandwidth a little bit. It is also very likely that the new models will be able to connect by themselves to iCloud and we hope that they will be able to become file servers for other Apple devices such as the Apple TV 2 so it is not necessary to keep the Mac on to watch a movie on the TV.
